Description

DEADLINE: 3/9/2020, 5:00 p.m.

The City of Reno Arts & Culture Commission, in collaboration with The Reno Downtown Rotary, is seeking sculpture for purchase and installation in Bicentennial Park, immediately east of Ralston Street between First Street and the Truckee River, in downtown Reno.

Goals of this project include: transforming a park into a home for a permanent sculpture exhibition; increase public awareness of art; broaden viewers' perspectives of public spaces within the City, and foster a sense of place in a highly visible area along the Truckee River.

SPECIFICATIONS: All sculptures MUST fit one of the existing pedestals. The maximum weights and sizes vary for each pedestal type. There are two available pedestals (2B and 5C - See PDF for weight and size specifications). The pedestals are topped with a steel plate for welding/securing artwork. Selected artist(s) will provide an image of the artwork being proposed.

BUDGET: The total budget for this project is $40,000. There are two (2) available sculpture pads. The purchase price of the piece should include any artist fees for transporting the work to the site. Please note: The budget is for 2 pieces of art, not necessarily from the same artist.
