The Shafer Art Gallery at Barton Community College is now accepting submissions from Kansas artists for its annual Friends and Acquaintances Exhibition.

The Friends and Acquaintances Exhibition celebrates the talent and diversity of artists from across Kansas, bringing together a wide variety of artistic styles, mediums, and perspectives. The exhibition provides an opportunity for both emerging and established artists to share their work with the public while fostering connections within the state's artistic community.

Kansas artists are invited to submit original artwork for consideration. A variety of media will be accepted.

Selected works will be featured in the Friends and Acquaintances Exhibition at the Shafer Art Gallery from September 11 through October 30, 2026. The exhibition will open with a public reception celebrating the participating artists and their work.

The submission deadline is August 24th. Drop off is August 24 - 31st at the Shafer Art Gallery.
