Call for Artists
The Arts in Healthcare Program at VCU Health announces a call for exhibition proposals for the 2020 exhibition season. This call is open to all artists in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older. “Arts in Healthcare” operates two galleries located in three hospital buildings for these exhibitions. The downtown gallery is located on the first floor of the Gateway Building and on the ground floor of North Hospital and Stony Point gallery is located in the Massey Cancer Center at Stony Point. Each Gallery can accommodate approximately 20 works (depending upon their size). Exhibitions are for a period of 60 days. Please note that the galleries cannot accommodate work that is larger than 48” in height or large sculptures.
Rules for Submission
? All artwork must be original and completed within the last four years.
? All media (with the exception of video) are accepted.
? Digital files must support the proposals.
? All submissions must contain 20 digital files, resume, artist’s statement

The deadline for submissions is November 22, 2019. Submissions WILL NOT be accepted after the deadline.
Artists offered an exhibition will be notified by December 20, 2019. If chosen, the work must be hand-delivered. The artist is responsible for the cost of delivering the artwork to and picking it up from the hospital gallery. Artwork can be “for sale”; however, 20% of the sale price will be donated to the hospital art program. Please be assured that the artworks are fully insured for their retail value while in the possession of the hospital. Pedestals are provided for three-dimensional work.
