Exhibition Background
WOM^N serves as a talking point to discuss the way we internalize images of women on a daily basis. Artists are asked to provide artwork that visually depicts women. Artists will also be asked to provide a reference image of a woman or women they feel attributes to the societal ideology of what women should look like. This pairing between artists’ work and reference images will be used to inquire what constitutes a genuine representation of women and to examine how we view and internalize images of women. This exhibition will run from March 13th-March 27th, 2020 at 22 North Gallery in Ypsilanti, MI.

Conditions of Entry
1. Artists Involved – This exhibition is open to women artists. The exhibition is limited to visual submissions—works on paper, painting, photography, printmaking, etc. Artists must be 18 years or older to enter.
2. Fees – This exhibition is FREE to enter.
3. Submission Info – Artists can submit up to THREE works for consideration. Submission deadline is February 14th, 2020. Artists will be notified of selection by February 17th, 2020.
4. Artwork size – 2D artwork is accepted up to 35x40 inches in size.
5. Images of Entries – In the entry form, please attach images that accurately represent your artwork. It is preferred that images be high-resolution (higher than 300 dpi). When submitting your images, please label the image file in this format: LastName_1, LastName_2, LastName_3 for each entry. Preferred image formats: JPEG, PNG, TIFF.
6. Display – Paintings need to have a pre-attached wire for hanging. All other artwork hanging preferences need to be noted otherwise.
7. Shipping – If you will be sending artwork via mail, you must include a return packing slip so we can send your artwork back to you after the end of the exhibition. If you do not, your artwork may not be returned to you. Your artwork MUST be delivered to Eastern Michigan University, King Hall 307, Ypsilanti, MI 48197, ATTN: Elena SV Flys by March 2nd, 2020.
8. Exhibition Agreement – If you have been selected to exhibit in the show, please confirm your participation in the event. If you need to withdraw your submission at any time, please send an email to mtassone@emich.edu
