About the Art Market & Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods
All items must be delivered pre-priced, and each piece must be clearly labeled with either the artist’s name or brand name. All accepted artwork must be handmade (reproductions of your original artwork are fine) and Nature or Eco Themed in some way (subject matter, materials used, function, etc.).
Brushwood Center is a unique space, located in a beautiful historic home surrounded by a forest preserve. The Art Market will be featured throughout the house in all the public rooms. Display space and tables will be shared, but we will take into account the desires of the exhibiting artists and do our best to give them the amount of space they request. The final layout of the sale will be determined by the staff in the way that best fits the available space. Majority of artwork must be able to be displayed on tables, shelves or floor, very little wall space will be available. If you have many pieces of similar work (such as several bundles of notecards), we will likely keep some as “back stock” and replenish as the sale goes on, so keep that in mind when determining how much space you would like.
Artists are not required to be present for the sale, but are highly encouraged to volunteer for a few hours at some point during the sale. Brushwood Center will retain 25% of all sales. Artists are responsible for paying any applicable sales tax (BCRW will collect taxes on your behalf and pass on the proceeds to you).
Volunteers: Brushwood Center has many different opportunities to volunteer throughout the year. If you are interested in volunteering at this event or in any other capacity at Brushwood Center, contact us at info@brushwoodcenter.org for a list of current needs and opportunities.
