Open Call For Female Artists
Kato Wong Gallery are giving female-identifying artists a space to discuss their feelings about recent upsetting events. There have been murders of young women in London, the Roe Vs Wade controversy amongst others.
You are invited to respond with artwork, either pre existing or new. Anger will be part of the discussion, but you are encouraged to educate both men and women about your experiences, your bodies, sexuality.
We invite female-identifying artists anywhere in the world to apply, regardless of experience.Kato Wong Gallery is a London based online gallery. Run by artist, film director and curator Kato Wong, the gallery has hosted 5 exhibitions by emerging and unknown artists from around the world. The exhibition will be online for 4 weeks in October.
1. Send a maximum of 3 low res images of your works to katowonggallery.com.
2. Send a statement of maximum 200 words describing your work in the context of the events around the world.
3. An artist statement/description of your background and work, maximum 200 words.
4. Send links to your website and social media.
There is no fee to apply. Selected artists will pay £50 to participate in the exhibition and will not be charged a commision for any sales they make.
