Description

This upcoming April, CityArts Orlando will join literary and artistic forces to celebrate the whimsical imagery created by Lewis Carroll in his stories, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass.

Artists are invited to create an original work of art inspired by their favorite quote, scene, character, or concept/feeling from Alice in Wonderland.

Beloved by all ages, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland aka Alice in Wonderland (1865) by Lewis Carroll inspired generations to delve into imaginary worlds and pursue their dreams. A little girl following a rabbit down a hole, meeting the Cheshire Cat, and having a tea party with the Mad Hatter became one of the most recognizable stories in modern literature. It provoked incredibly rich art from authors and creatives, who immortalized the story in new adaptations, prints, and drawings.

Take Alice to the next level. Think about her in the world today. Take us on a journey to WONDERLAND! Artists are encouraged to find inspiration from any works related to Alice in Wonderland. This includes images and themes from books, animated films, live-action films, theatrical productions, etc.
