Florida Emerging Art’s March Call theme is “Escapist”. The gallery provides a virtual space for emerging artists and this month is curated by Brianna Ashton @briannaashtonart.
An ‘Escapist’ is a person who seeks distraction and relief from unpleasant realities, especially in the form of entertainment or fantasy.
Artists are called to create imagery in any medium of their choice that depicts the feeling of dissociation, where they escape their reality in daydreams or in the real world. Reflecting on the people, places and objects that provide us with a sense of relief amid the trials of life.

Call Summary: All Artistic Mediums Accepted. We encourage artists without a record in established institutions to contribute.

Project Description: The March exhibition, “Escapist” calls for artists to create imagery that depict the feelings of dissociation, daydream, and distraction.

Art Location Description: Digital Gallery.

Budget: This call is entirely free to submit.

Artist Eligibility: Open to Florida artists aged 18 and above without an established record in professional art institutions. Artwork sales should not constitute more than 25% of the artist’s yearly income.

Application Requirements: Submit a 1080 x 1080 digital image in JPEG, JPG, PNG, GIF, ICO, BMP, or TIFF format to floridaartsubmit@gmail.com

Deadline: Applications must be received by February 28, 2024 11:00PM EST.

Selection Process: Artists will be selected through a comprehensive review process, ensuring the exhibition relates to the theme and has artistic merit and conceptual depth.
