Description

Professional and amateur artists 18 years and older may submit original artwork for the upcoming exhibit “New Beginnings“, exploring themes of renewal, hope, and the beauty of starting anew. We accept representational, abstract, and conceptual works of art, ranging from drawings, paintings, collage, and photographic and digital art. Sorry, we cannot accept sculpture.

Important Dates
Artist Submission Deadline: Friday, August 23, 2024
Acceptance Notification: Ongoing. All artists will be informed by August 26
Art Drop-Off: Tuesday, September 3 - Tuesday, September 10, 2024
Exhibit Dates: Thursday, September 12, 2024 through Monday, January 6, 2025
Art Pick-Up: Beginning Tuesday, January 7, 2025

Submission Process
You may submit up to 10 artworks for consideration. Email photos of your artwork to Amanda Barron, at abarron@zufallhealth.org with the following information:

Full name and contact information
Photos of your work: Submit jpeg or png files clearly labeled with the artist name, title of artwork, and size (ex. John_Smith_OpeningAccesss_36x48).
Medium: For example, acrylic on canvas, oil on wood panel, mixed media, etc.
Prices of your work if applicable. If your artwork is not for sale, write NFS.
Artist bio, if you have one.
Details and Rules

Artists must be over 18 years of age.
All artwork must be the artist’s original work.
There is no cost to participate in Zufall Health art exhibits. Zufall Health does not charge any commission in case of sales. Any sale transactions will be directly between the artist and purchaser.
Prohibited subjects include political statements, commercial advertising, and subject matter not suited for a public display space and/or minors.
The selection committee has final say on determining the eligibility of artwork.
Insurance: The artists must insure their own art. Zufall Health is a secure, professional building and all consideration and measures will be taken to secure the art.
Zufall Health and the Exhibit Curator, Amanda Barron, are not responsible for any stolen, damaged or broken artwork and frames with glass. Plexiglass is a better option for framed pieces.
Zufall Health reserves the right to refuse art that does not conform to the above standards.
Hanging Requirements

Zufall Health does not use nails or tacks on our walls. Instead, we use a wall mounted rail and cable system. See similar example here: www.picturehangingsystems.com/stas-minirail.html The cable has a hook on the end that can be attached to a wire and/or on the back of your artwork. If your artwork is accepted, please be sure to prepare it properly for hanging with picture wire and/or hooks on the back.

Opening Reception
A reception will be held on Thursday, September 12, 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Zufall Health, 49 Mount Pleasant Avenue, West Orange, NJ. Guests will enjoy light refreshments, wine, music and conversation. Artists, their families, and friends and the general public are welcome to attend. No rsvp necessary!
