Superfan Magazine's Open Call for Art & Writing
|
It’s official: Superfan’s inaugural issue is in the works, and we want you to be a part of it. Help us celebrate our launch by submitting any art and writing that captures your own personal definition of joy. We want you to think of this first edition as a party: rooms full of friends, loved ones, uncontrollable laughter, all mixed in with a bit of summer sweetness. We want to see happiness through your eyes—bring us your best and brightest pieces yet.
Prompts + Inspiration:
- Capture a moment of unexpected joy in everyday life.
- What makes you happy? Who makes you happy?
- Think about the last time you felt like you were finally doing something right.
- What does happiness mean to you? Tap into your senses. What does it look like? What does it sound/smell/taste/feel like?
- How would you describe any current joys in your life to a past or future version of yourself?
- Tell us about someone you love.
- When was the last time you laughed so hard you started crying?
- Take a shot at contrasting joy with other emotions to highlight its importance.
- Recall any happy childhood memories you might have. Tell us all about it.
- In what ways are you allowing joy to be a regular part of your life, in both small and big ways?
- How are you letting love in? How have you seen love at work in your life?
- How do you observe kindness and joy occurring outside of your own direct experience? What are some sweet moments you have observed between people other than yourself?
