2024 Open Call for Video Art: Portals

Portals invites artists to explore how fantasy and escapism can serve as means of liberation from the oppressive aspects of daily life. How can imagination serve to challenge oppressive systems, disrupt normative ideologies, and open channels through which individuals and communities can connect in collective dream spaces? The Clarvit Courtyard at University of Maryland seeks to screen work that challenges the notion that escape is merely a passive retreat, but instead an opportunity to stake claim to realms of radical hope and liberation.
