FILE is now accepting applications for the 2025 edition, inviting artists, creators, developers and researchers to submit their projects. This is a unique opportunity to exhibit your work in São Paulo, from July 15 to September 7, 2025, at the renowned FIESP Cultural Center.

We seek innovative and creative projects that integrate art and technology, both national and international, covering diverse areas such as installations, robotics, CGI, virtual and augmented realities, animations, mobile art, games, kinetic art, public art and much more. We value proposals that explore interaction with the public and the use of Artificial Intelligence, in various formats of artistic expression.

As a non-profit cultural organization, FILE promotes experimentation and development in the field of Art and Technology, providing a platform for artists to connect with new audiences. In this 24th edition, the festival continues its commitment to exploring the boundaries between technology and art.

FILE 2025 | GENERAL REGULATIONS

1. Introduction
1.1 FILE is a non-profit cultural organization that, since 2000, has promoted exhibitions, workshops and meetings that seek to investigate the appropriations of technological tools in artistic production. With annual exhibitions in São Paulo, editions in Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Maranhão and Curitiba, as well as participation in international exhibitions, FILE constitutes the largest art and technology event in Latin America.

1.2 The FILE 2025 Call for Proposals continues the festival's annual selection processes, which invites artists and researchers to submit original works of art and educational projects in Art and Technology to participate in FILE exhibitions.

1.3 This call offers opportunities to participate in the 24th Edition of the International Electronic Language Festival, which will take place at the FIESP Cultural Center, in São Paulo, with the assembly taking place during the probable period from July 11 to 14, 2025 and the festival from July 15 to September 7, 2025. It also allows collaboration in parallel events to be held in different states of Brazil.

1.4 In addition, this Notice includes applications for the FILE Led Show program, a public art exhibition at the Digital Art Gallery (external LED panel located at Fiesp – at Avenida Paulista, 1313). Due to the recent replacement of equipment carried out by the institution, it is recommended to observe the update of the technical specifications of FILE Led Show to submit non-interactive proposals to be presented at the Digital Art Gallery.

1.5 The FILE Workshop program workshops included in this Call for Proposals aim to promote the use of technological tools as means of artistic production. Registration for this category is only available to participants residing in Brazil and who are proficient in Portuguese.

1.6 To participate in all programs, it is necessary to fill out the registration form, in accordance with the General Regulations of FILE 2025. Registration is free.

2. PURPOSE
The purpose of this Regulation is to select audiovisual, visual, sound and/or interactive works for exhibitions held by FILE, including, but not limited to, the 2025 edition, as well as other future editions, with the artist's consent. In addition, the selected works may also be considered for inclusion in the associated FILE Led Show and FILE Workshop programs, with the artist's due authorization. The call for proposals is organized by FILE INTERNATIONAL ELECTRONIC LANGUAGE FESTIVAL, registered with the CNPJ under no. 03.659.709/0001-91 (Organizer).

2.1 These Regulations contain the terms and conditions governing participation in FILE 2025. We recommend that you read each item of the terms and conditions that follow with the utmost attention, as their full acceptance is essential for participation in the FILE 2025 exhibitions.

3. CATEGORIES
Given the exponential and continuous expansion of media, formats, technologies and the integration of areas of contemporary knowledge, the FILE Call for Proposals does not have specific categories. This proposal aims to include diverse physical, digital, hybrid and interactive works of Art and Technology, as well as educational projects such as lectures and workshops. Candidates interested in specifying an area of ??identification for their work must indicate it at the time of registration.

4. REGISTRATION
4.1 Registration may be completed from 6:00 pm on November 15, 2024 to January 15, 2025 until 11:59 pm.

4.2 Only applications submitted online through the official FILE 2025 website will be accepted: OPEN CALL .

4.3 Each participant may submit up to 3 proposals for works (hereinafter referred to as “works”) that have been carried out in the last 3 years (2023, 2024, 2025). In the case of duplicate works, the last submission will be considered valid.

4.4 To register, it is necessary to fill out and submit the online Registration Form in full. Registrations submitted after the deadline and/or supplements to registrations that have been sent incompletely and/or incorrectly will not be accepted.

4.5 The Registration Form is intended for the submission of only one work or educational project at a time. If you wish to submit more than one work or educational project, please complete a new form for each submission.

4.6 The registration deadline cannot be extended, and participants are advised to register in advance.

4.7 Participation by people under 18 (eighteen) years of age is permitted, however, at the time of classification, legal guardians will be asked to authorize participation, use of the work, image and voice of the person selected in this condition, under penalty of disqualification.

5. SUBMISSION OF WORKS
5.1 All works must be available in full for online consultation via video. In the case of video and/or audio works, a link to download the file must be provided, as specified in item 5.3.

5.1 All works and corresponding materials for dissemination, including the technical rider, must be shared via an open access link, which may be on Google Drive, One Drive or iCloud, in the respective field of the Registration Form. It is important to note that expired links or links with closed access will result in the disqualification of the registration. Regarding the access period, this may be stipulated according to the dynamics of the festival, with the possibility of a time limit to be defined together with the artists.

5.2 The Digital Art Gallery is formed by a network of approximately 119,940 clusters/pixels incorporated into three surfaces of the FIESP building (Avenida Paulista, 1313, São Paulo).

5.3 Download the technical specifications of FILE Led Show.

5.4 Descriptive documentation of the work, as well as the biography of the participant, group and other collaborators, must be sent at the time of registration and in the respective field of the Registration Form.

5.5 In the case of Installations, Performances and Public Art Projects (such as FILE Led Show), a Technical Rider must be sent in the respective field of the Registration Form, that is, a PDF with a detailed description of the work, information about the necessary equipment, physical space requirements, form of interaction (if applicable), a link to a video demonstrating the work, the role of visitors in relation to the interaction interface, any illustrations or sketches, transportation requirements and other details that are important for understanding the proposal in its entirety.

5.6 A PDF document must be sent containing specifications for the assembly, maintenance and disassembly of the works, as well as the use of objects and equipment loaned by the participant to the festival.

5.7 The Organizer is responsible for: assembling the work together with the artist and sending its technical specifications to the festival production team in advance; disassembling it in the absence of the artist, based on a detailed technical itinerary; and returning objects and equipment borrowed by the artist, after sending instructions and a list of specific detailed items in advance. These instructions are essential and the artists are fully responsible for them. The festival is exempt from any problems resulting from their absence.

5.8 In the Registration Form, a Google Drive, One Drive or iCloud link must be provided, as specified in item 5.1.1, where high-resolution images of the registered work will be available for download.

a. Images for publicity must be in TIFF or JPEG format and have a resolution of 300 dpi. These images will be used to publicize the work, and the Organizer is not responsible for their reproduction in the festival publications. If it is necessary to credit the images to someone, such credits must be specified by the participant in the Credits/Observations field at the time of registration.

5.9 If the work is interactive, a video exemplifying the interactive interface of the work must be available online.

5.10 In the case of FILE Workshop: The participant must fill in the URL field to download the proposal/presentation with a link to the file including the full description of the proposal (workload, program content, participant limit, among others).

5.11 Works that contain dialogues or written texts must be sent accompanied by a complete transcription in the original language, for translation. If there is a previous version of the dialogues in Portuguese or English, they must also be made available to ensure the accessibility of the work.

6. REGISTRATION FORM
6.1 The participant authorizes the Organizer to exhibit at its events the works registered when submitting the Registration Form, as well as to publish on the organizer's website and in the archive the documentation of the work exhibited at FILE events.

6.2 In the event of work carried out by more than one person, only one person will be responsible for the Registration Form. The other members and/or collaborators must be indicated in the respective field of the Registration Form, as well as the name of the group and their respective biographies. The Organizer is not responsible for including in its exhibition and/or publications any data that has not been provided in the Registration Form by the responsible participant.

7. SELECTION
7.1 The works will be analyzed by an internal evaluation committee, which will select the works that will be part of the FILE 2025 exhibition.

7.2 Notification of the selection will be carried out by the Organizer to each participant individually, via the organization's official email, as well as any subsequent contact.

8. COPYRIGHT OF IMAGE AND VOICE SOUND
Participants hereby authorize the Organizer, free of charge, definitively, universally and irrevocably, to use the works produced by them for the purposes of participating in FILE 2025.

Participants also authorize the use of the works produced by them, registered and selected for FILE 2025, as well as their name, image and voice, sent by Participants or obtained through research, for use by the Organizer in promoting FILE 2025, its next editions, and/or in institutional promotion and other events promoted by the Organizer, in any and all types of advertising, broadcast through electronic, digital and/or printed media, including: magazines, posters, television and radio stations, internet, websites and social networks, and any other type of media and/or promotional pieces, in the manner that the Organizer deems convenient, without limit of time, territory and/or number of exhibitions, without any burden to the Organizer, preserving all copyrights and credits of their respective authors. Selected participants agree to sign a specific authorization form to the Organizer for copyright, as well as for the use of image and voice.

This regulation authorizes FILE INTERNATIONAL ELECTRONIC LANGUAGE FESTIVAL, or third parties indicated by it, to control only AUTHORIZED:

1- to freely use my image and/or voice sound, being able to capture, edit, synchronize, disclose, translate, store, fix, reproduce, broadcast, publish, transmit, distribute in full and/or edited form, together or not with other images and/or sounds, with or without commercial purposes, to publicize the programming of the AUTHORIZED PARTIES, as well as in materials related to the history, actions and events carried out by the AUTHORIZED PARTIES, which may be broadcast and disclosed through printed, electronic and/or digital media, including but not limited to the social networks and websites of the authorized parties and/or third parties indicated by them, making them available for download or not, as well as together with the names of producers, sponsors and/or supporters.

2- in relation to all patrimonial copyrights, including, but not limited to, the possibility of recording and capturing the Work for free use, being able to edit, synchronize, disclose, translate, store, fix, reproduce, broadcast, publish, transmit, distribute in full and/or edited form, together or not with other works, images and/or sounds, with or without commercial purposes, for the dissemination of the programming of the AUTHORIZED PARTIES, as well as in materials related to the history, actions and events carried out by the AUTHORIZED PARTIES, which may be broadcast and disseminated through printed, electronic and/or digital media, including but not limited to the social networks and websites of the authorized parties and/or third parties indicated by them, making them available for download or not, as well as together with the names of producers, sponsors and/or supporters.

3- that the Work may be included, at the discretion of the AUTHORIZED PARTIES, on the WIKIDATA platform (https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Main_Page), having full knowledge of the criteria for using Copyrights and Creative Commons on the platform, and considering the characteristics of the internet, which allow third parties to extract and use published images, the AUTHORIZED PARTIES are exempt from liability if a third party registers and discloses the images of the Work improperly.

I further declare that I have full powers and capabilities to enter into this Agreement, being the sole owner of the copyright of the Work and exempting the AUTHORIZED PARTIES from any and all administrative, civil or criminal liability, obliging myself to compensate them for any losses and damages they may suffer in the event of a dispute.

This authorization is signed in a universal, definitive, irrevocable, irreversible manner, for Brazil and abroad, free of charge, without limitation of time and number of reproductions, obliging the Parties to its faithful and full compliance, by themselves, their heirs and successors.

9. GENERAL PROVISIONS
9.1 The Organizer, at any time, may, at its sole discretion, supplement and/or modify this document, partially or totally. All modifications or supplements will be made known to all by publication on the websites file.org.br, novabienalrio.org and archive.file.org.br, and such changes or supplements will only be implemented 24 (twenty-four) hours after their publication on the website.

9.2 The decision of the evaluation committee is final and cannot be appealed.

9.3 By completing the online Registration Form, participants tacitly agree to all the rules of these Regulations, as well as to the use of their names, images, voices and photos to publicize the selection results, including for use in advertisements and exhibitions, without any additional cost to the Organizer or third parties indicated by the Organizer, for the legal term of copyright protection.

9.4 The work of any participant who violates any rule of these Regulations and/or other communications, as well as is involved in any case of fraud, will be automatically excluded from evaluation, in which case they will also be subject to liability for the crime of ideological or documentary forgery.

9.5 Mere registration in this competition implies full knowledge of its conditions and unrestricted acceptance of these Regulations by the participant, who is fully responsible for any claims, judicial or extrajudicial, relating to third party rights or complaints due to non-compliance with any conditions of the Regulations.

9.6 The content of the websites file.org.br, novabienalrio.org and archive.file.org.br is offered as is for your information, personal use, viewing and data entry only, and may not be downloaded, copied, reproduced, distributed, transmitted, displayed, shown to the public, sold, licensed, or in any other way exploited for any purpose whatsoever, without the prior written consent of the Organizer.

9.7 If the selected entries cannot be found, or if it is not possible to contact them three times in a row, the Organizer may, at its discretion, select another entry to continue with the award, disqualifying the selected entry that was not found.

9.8 The Organizer will not admit agents, businessmen or any other intermediaries in its relationship with participants and selected candidates, in all matters directly and/or indirectly linked to FILE 2025, now and in the future.

9.9 All doubts and/or questions arising from this selection process will be resolved by the Organizer, always considering the consumer protection standards in force. The Organizer's decisions will not be subject to any type of appeal.

9.10 Participation in this selection process is FREE and exclusively cultural, without any form of luck or payment by the participants, nor any link between them and the acquisition or use of any good, right or service, in accordance with article 3, item II, of Law No. 5,768/71 and article 30 of Decree No. 70,951/72.
