Artlink is now accepting submissions for our juried exhibition, Sticking Together! We live in a time of fragmentation, socially and personally. Artists today have found unique ways to both reflect and challenge these conditions. Many artists respond to this fragmentation through the surprising combination of elements that already exist in the world. Collage, assemblage, photomontage, quilting, installation, and ad hoc applications of mixed media are inherently suited to paradox, multiple viewpoints, and plurality, serving up aesthetic harmony to help us make sense out of the chaos. We encourage artists to think broadly about the various ways collage, assemblage, and other processes of combination are evidenced in their work.
