Description

Artists at least 18 years old and a resident of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, or West Virginia are invited to apply for Uproar Festival of Public Art, taking place August 1-23 in Orange County, NC.

• 2025 Jurors Stephen Hayes, Thomas Sayre, and Elizabeth Brim!
• Sixty artists will be selected and will get a $1,000 honorarium for participation
• Prize money will total $21,000 ($10k 1st Place Juror, $10k 1st Place People’s Choice, and two $500 awards for runners up in each category)
• There will be a Purchase Award of one work from the Town of Hillsborough and a $6,000 Commission Award from the Town of Chapel Hill.
• We will provide discounted lodging for artists at one of our partner hotels
• Sales opportunity: Selected artists are encouraged to make their Uproar artwork available for purchase
• A feel-good, great-vibes event where we treat our artists like rock stars ????
