Welcome to the 9th annual edition of the Visual Art Open Prize (VAO), where we celebrate and showcase the diverse talents of artists at every stage of their journey, from emerging talents to seasoned professionals. The VAO is not just a competition; it's a prestigious opportunity that offers unparalleled exposure and recognition. With a prize fund exceeding £10,000, artists are given validation and visibility on a global platform, culminating in a finalist exhibition in central London. Our esteemed judging panel comprises professionals from commercial galleries, the museum sector, art media, and academia.

At VAO, we believe in inclusivity and encourage artists of all backgrounds to express their individuality. By entering the VAO, artists can connect with a vibrant community, gain valuable exposure, and share their unique vision with over a million art collectors and enthusiasts. All submissions receive promotion on social media and email coverage to 60,000 subscribers, along with an invitation to the annual show.

Finalists will enjoy additional online promotion, a Certificate of Achievement, dedicated event content for personal use, and the chance to participate in the Finalists Show. Category winners will receive a £250 cash prize, Premium Annual Membership with the Visual Artists Association, and an exhibition opportunity in London. The overall winner will be awarded a £2,000 cash prize, annual mentorship programme, solo show in London, and more.
