Chandler Gallery annual open call for art submissions: LIGHT and SHADOW

Area Artist Show: May 24 – July 13, 2025

Chandler’s annual Area Artist show titled "Light and Shadow" will explore the dynamic interplay between light and dark, both in the physical world and within the human experience. Light and Shadow are some of the most important concepts in art and life and some of the most powerful tools in artistic tool-kits. Featuring a diverse collection of artists working across various mediums, this exhibition invites to contemplate how light can reveal, transform, and sometimes obscure, while shadow holds secrets, evokes mystery, and adds depth.

Chandler invites both 2D and 3D artists to share their best artwork depicting light and shadow. Whether in color or black & white, the artwork should represent dramatic placement and effects of light and shadow. All area artists, over the age of 18, regardless of experience and background, are encouraged to submit their best representational or abstract work in any media.

- Drop off dates: May 14 – 17, 2025
All work submitted is?accepted. Artists may submit up to four 2-D or 3-D original recent artworks that have not been displayed at Chandler before, with the caveat that we may not be able to display all four pieces, depending on size and number of other submissions. The artwork must be suitably prepared for gallery presentation.
