The National Arts Festival, held annually in Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown) since 1974, is one of the continent’s most respected cultural events—known for its deep roots in activism, creative freedom, and boundary-pushing artistic expression. ArtSeen will extend this legacy by curating selected artworks to appear on digital screens across South Africa, reaching thousands of festival-goers, locals, and international visitors.
