Description

In response to strong demand, the Visual Artists Association (VAA) is hosting a dedicated, one-hour online masterclass focused entirely on photographing 3D artwork using your smartphone.

Led by experienced artist and former auctioneer Carlo Savo, this session will equip you with practical skills to capture high-quality images of three-dimensional pieces. Whether you’re preparing your work for online galleries, submissions, or promotional materials, you’ll gain the technical knowledge and visual insight to present your work at its best.

About Carlo Savo

Carlo was born and raised in Northeast Pennsylvania, just outside of Scranton. He began drawing at a young age, often copying comic book covers and popular cartoon characters. As a teenager, he taught himself painting and traditional figure drawing. Though largely self-taught, he was guided and encouraged by mentors along the way.

At 18, Carlo became an apprentice auctioneer, entering the world of antiques and fine art. Over sixteen years in the field, he gained deep insight into art history, presentation, and collecting. In 2016, he left the auction world to pursue his own artistic practice full-time, combining creative vision with a refined eye for presentation—making him an ideal guide for this masterclass.
