Description

What does it mean to feel safe—truly safe—in your body, your identity, your community, or your art?

In a time marked by state violence, forced displacement, and ongoing erasure—from queer and trans lives under attack, to the persecution of Palestinians, to the criminalization of immigrants—we believe art can hold space for both grief and joy.

We invite artists whose work explores identity as resistance, as celebration, as survival, and as communion. A Safe Space seeks to uplift voices that are often silenced or surveilled, and to honor how communities create sanctuary for one another—through culture, care, protest, and presence.

This exhibition aims to spotlight work that:
-Celebrates identity beyond the binary and the box.
-Reflects on safety as a personal or political idea.
-Centers joy, resilience, or interdependence.
-Imagines radical futures rooted in justice, equity, and love.

All media welcome.

Artists across the gender spectrum, immigrants, BIPOC, queer and trans folks, and those directly impacted by systems of oppression are strongly encouraged to submit.

Cash Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place ($100, $50, and $25 respectively).
