Moons, Castles, Trees | The Wrong Biennale ’25/’26

Copenhagen Denmark

Description

The Wrong Biennale is a global art event dedicated to showcasing bold, boundary-pushing creativity across hybrid, virtual, and physical platforms.

Since its foundation in 2013, more than 10,000 artists have exhibited in decentralized networks of exhibitions.

Like the internet, it's become a multi-stranded international phenomenon, a living and breathing organism of primarily digital art forms.

'Moons, Castles, Trees' is a sub-exhibition curated by Danish photographer & artist Kasper Bergholt in collaboration with Copenhagen Chronotopes Art Gallery.

Thematically it's inspired by Nick Cave's 'Cinnamon Horses' released in 2024.

Horses dance beneath strawberry moons. They wander castle ruins. They are in turpentine trees.

These dream-like images, which are drawn from Nick Cave’s Cinnamon Horses, form a springboard into synthetic, imagined realities.

What happens when AI dances, strolls, is found?

Artists (in the broadest sense, painters, photographers, calligraphers, illustrators, sculptors, print-makers, generative artists, graffiti and stencil, et cetera) to explore these questions through still images, whether a single photograph or a series of up to six.

All image-making methods are welcome.
